Please take a few moments to take our next Web survey.
We're looking for input on two different design concepts for a new homepage look and feel. Once we decide on a design direction we will begin developing second and third tier pages to complement the homepage selected. Yet we don't want to decide this alone -- we are counting on our community for advice.
The survey will remain open until Sunday, May 24. You can access it at:

Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWhat great designs!
ReplyDeleteBoth seem very similar in design, although it is different in color schemes.
ReplyDeleteYes, there are similarities between the two designs -- yet there are significant differences in the navigation and general layout. As well, images, icons, and other design elements are treated differently in the two concepts.
ReplyDeleteI sent in my survey but left out the part about thinking of the Pittsburgh Sttelers when I looked at the yellow sample. I like yellow/gold and black together but, this could have used some greater background contrast between the top links line and the banner, they seemed to blend and create a box like appearance.
ReplyDeleteBoth are great in terms of content!
Great work!

I love the by the numbers thing. Very cool way of showing fast facts!
ReplyDeleteYeah Leon, thanks -- it's a dynamic way of relaying interesting information about the School that would otherwise be buried in content.
ReplyDeleteOther schools are starting to do similar things.
Is anyone going to be redesigning the layout of blackboard anytime soon?
ReplyDeleteI left a comment about post: Architecture Update and Card Sorting Workshop. When will we see more design?
ReplyDeleteGood question.
ReplyDeleteThe survey remains open until May 24. During that time we are working on secondary and tertiary designs. But those designs won’t be ready until all data is collected from the surveys.
So lots of work will be done between the end of May and beginning of June.
On June 9 we will have an "Open Forum" at the School to reveal a final homepage design, based on feedback. And I'm fairly certain that we'll have those second and third tier pages ready by that time (or soon after).
Blackboard is a campus-level issue, and our office isn't involved with it - so, I'm not sure what plans campus has for it.
ReplyDeleteThe new designs are wonderful. Great work!
ReplyDeleteNow, when you are done with that project, please do something about the contrast on this page. It is really hard to read.

Hi,
ReplyDeleteI cannot access the designing page, where is it.
"Web Design Quote," the link above works. I tested it a few times...
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what the issue is for you -- it might be tied to a server timing out or packets lost in transit between servers. Try again.
Thanks for testing i think that time a little bit problem there and i don't find the designing page but now its OK.
